Division Head – Child Support

Exciting Career Opportunity!Weld County Department of Human Services is recruiting for a Division Head for the Child Support division. This professional will oversee the functions and activities of the Child Support Services Program. Ensure compliance with federal, state and county rules and regulations through direct and indirect management. Provide administrative oversight, supervision and leadership to staff in the division.The Weld County Department of Human Services (WCDHS) employs over 450 workers, who have the skills, passion and drive to service Weld County citizens in 31 incorporated municipalities and across almost 4,000 square miles.The Ideal Candidate will be someone who possesses the following traits:1. Collaborative problem solverThe starting pay is $89,186.30 – $113,033.85 annually plus benefits (see benefits tab on the job posting).Directly supervises the Child Support Establishment Manager, Child Support Legal Technician Manager, Core Support Manager, and the Program Resource Specialist. Provides leadership, guidance and support to staff ensuring a high level of performance. Appraises performance, addresses employee concerns and resolves problems in collaboration with Department Administration and County Human Resources. Assists in developing educational and professional development opportunities for staff. Participates in interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Knows and complies with Federal and State Child Support program regulations and statutes. Reviews local procedures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with other procedures, regulations and statutes. Performs regular reviews to determine division accuracy and compliance with established standards. Takes corrective actions to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County policies, rules and regulations. Interfaces with County and State auditors for program compliance issues. Directs the work of the Child Support Division in a manner that ensures accountability at all levels. Identifies operational efficiencies and anticipates and plans for implementation of program or policy changes. Monitors and evaluates division and unit workflow using knowledge of business functions, program requirements and customer needs. Adjusts assignments to meet work demands. Stays informed on best practices in the industry. Tracks and analyzes performance data. Develops best practices and strategies in order to maximize effectiveness and meet program goals. Establishes and enforces standards for work within the Child Support Division. Implements improvements to delivery of services. Engages in collaborative leadership with strategic partners, including: the court, State Human Services, employers, other counties, other agencies, other divisions, and the local community. Responds to consumer inquiries and resolve problems. Prepares all necessary reports and plans required by oversight entities. Formulates budget recommendations, reviews and monitors expenses. Monitors incentive and revenue sources. Sets, justifies, and meets annual program goals.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRequired Education:Successful completion of bachelors degree.Equivalent combination of education, training and work experience related to the specialized subject area of the work assigned to the job which provides the required skills, knowledge and ability for the position may be considered in lieu of the degree.Required Work Experience:Six years full-time, professional work experience in a human services organization or legal field.Experience managing programs or initiatives within an organization.Two years full time experience supervising and managing employees that includes directing work activities and evaluating employee performance. Preferred Work Experience:Experience working in the Child Support Services program area.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Must possess ability to keyboard at 35 words per minute. Must pass Human Services Background Checks.
