This is a Full-time position in Greeley, CO posted July 21, 2021.

DescriptionSeasonal position (Temporary employment approximately 9-10 month positions) that will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation of trucks, tools in construction and repair activities, and will be required to perform a certain amount of manual labor.

3:30 p.M., Monday Friday (some schedules will be on a 4-day workweek, start times may differ) and may involve overtime which could include evenings, weekends and holidays.Starting pay is $19.01 $24.05 per hour plus benefits (see benefits tab on the job posting).Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class.)* Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the operation of trucks, tools in construction and repair activities, and will be required to perform a certain amount of manual labor.* Must have a basic knowledge of road construction/maintenance procedures, perform work with little direction to aid in the efficient and effective completion of the project or assigned task.* Must be available to respond to and work extraordinary hours during emergency events.* Must perform work in a courteous and safe manner and maintain working relationships with co-workers.* Must be able to follow instructions from senior employees.* When contact with the public is required, the employee must maintain a courteous, helpful attitude.* Assist in moving equipment.

Manual labor duties may be required.* Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation:High School Education or equivalent preferredExperience:Applicant must have two (2) yrs.

of experience and a working knowledge of construction activities.Two (2) years of experience and working knowledge of heavy and medium-sized equipment necessary for maintenance and construction activities used in servicing County roads and bridges located throughout the county including towns, remote areas and school zones.Experience by DivisionPavement Mgmt DivisionWorking knowledge of asphalt, paving, milling, patching, crack seal and chip seal preferred.Road & Bridge ConstructionWorking knowledge of culvert maintenance, cattle guard installation or repairs and barrow ditch maintenance preferred.Materials (Trucking/Mining) DivisionWorking experience with Tandem axle dump truck, truck tractor with belly dump trailer or low boy trailer, wheel loader and/or dozer and aggregate crushing plant preferred.Gravel Roads ManagementTanker endorsement and experience hauling liquids preferred.Maintenance Support DivisionSigning, painting, striping and ability to work independently preferred.Certifications/LicensesA CDL A or B (tanker preferred) + Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificationA post offer screen (physical ability/drug testing) is a requirement of being hired for the position.An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a prescreening process which includes a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked.

A successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
