A differential is provided for flexibility associated with scheduling.

**Pay range includes $8/hr.

night differential.POSITION SUMMARYParticipates in the accomplishment of Boulder Community Health’s and the Family Birth Center’s mission, vision and goals by utilizing the nursing process to coordinate and provide direct patient care.

Is accountable for coordinating the resources needed by patients and families, promotes patient satisfaction and facilitates the achievement of quality clinical and cost outcomes.

Ages of patients served include neonates, adolescents, and adults.

Interacts in a respectful manner, considerate of age and physical abilities, and provides assistance to individuals in a manner that takes into account their special needs or age related needs.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation And Formal TrainingSpecial Qualifictions (Licensure, Registration, etc.)1.

Colorado RN license in good standing.2.

BLS certification required by end of conditional period.3.

NRP for Family Birth Center required by end of conditional period.4.

ACLS certification within 6 months of hire for L& DExperiencePreferred one-year RN clinical nursing experience in perinatal, emergency department, or ICU.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES1.

The RN is responsible for the assessment of the patients and their families’ biopsychosocial and spiritual needs to meet their self-care, educational, environmental, safety and discharge goals.2.

The RN is accountable for the assessment of the ancillary staff competencies and appropriateness of delegation for data collection for the above factors.3.

The RN develops and prioritizes care of the patient and family based on the ongoing assessment and use of the individualized care plan in collaboration with the patient and health care team.4.

The RN efficiently utilizes available resources including appropriate referrals to follow through on the plan of care.5.

The RN ensures completion of the interventions and appropriate patient education by demonstrating clinical knowledge for standard therapies as outlined in care guidelines for their areas of training and cross training.a.

Labor/Delivery/Recovery and high risk antepartum, intrapartum patients and postpartum patients.b.

Mother-Baby, low risk antepartum, postpartum, and well newborns.c.

Transitional care of the newborn.d.

Care of the high risk newborn in Special Care Nursery.2.

The RN ensures that the patient and family members are involved in decision-making.3.

The RN will delegate tasks/functions to competent care givers.4.

May be required to perform point of care testing.

May be a point of care trainer.WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES1.

Physical working environment may include, but not be limited to, any of the following hazards: chemical, electrical, mechanical, biowaste, explosive, radiation, etc.2.

Environmental conditions may include, but not be limited to, variations in temperature, noise, odors, etc.3.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk.

The employee frequently is required to stoop, crouch and twist.

The employee is occasionally required to kneel, squat and sit.4.

The employee must be able to consistently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 10 pounds, frequently support, push, pull and/or lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally support, push, pull and/or transfer up to 50 pounds (for example, moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed).5.

Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching.
