The Data Science Associate will join a small team building an enterprise-level data science capability at the bank, to be deployed for problem-solving and opportunity identification across all business functions.

The Associate has a unique opportunity to participate in defining, executing, and routinizing an end-to-end methodology for advanced analytics.

They will join a team that is passionate about solving business problems, improving processes, and building strong partnerships across a dynamic, growing organization.

This is a growth role for an individual with 2 years of industry data science experience to build skills and depth across the entire analytics lifecycle.

Our Expectations for Someone in this role: Work with our business leaders to understand and articulate analytics use cases Locate, explore, and analyze business data; identify and diagnose issues, document assumptions, and design solutions Select and apply data mining and machine learning techniques to solve business problems Execute end-to-end data science workflows, from data collection and wrangling through model development, visualization, and delivery Help business leaders absorb and integrate analytical results into decision-making processes Develop, deploy, and maintain sustainable analytical products that directly support the bank’s strategic priorities Maintain ownership of data sets and frameworks utilized for model development, while contributing to the bank’s data infrastructure and data management functions.

Skills & Experience: 2 years of professional experience in a data science environment in the Financial Services industry Passion for solving business problems collaboratively and analytically Great communication skills and ability to translate analytics concepts for a business audience Creativity in solving problems under constraints, e.g.

imperfect data and infrastructure Technical Qualifications Familiarity with a broad range of data analysis tools and techniques Knowledge of machine learning concepts and techniques, model development, and application to real-world problems Experience in data wrangling and/or Extract/Transform/Load processes Programming skills in Python (NumPy/Pandas) or R, and SQL Experience with dashboarding/visualization tools such as PowerBI Nice to haves: Familiarity with Anaconda, PyCharm, and/or KNIME Educational background in disciplines related to data science: linear algebra, discrete structures, probability theory, statistical modeling What success looks like for someone in this role: 3 months: Familiarity with the bank and its functions; comfort working with our primary data sources 6 months: Build a complete data pipeline and analytical model.

12 months: Complete the data science life cycle and integrate the output into a business process.
