Network Engineer


This is a Full-time position in Fort Collins, CO posted June 5, 2021.

Job Description

Role: L 1.5 Engineer

Location: Fort Collins (Colorado), Houston (Texas), Milpitas (California)

Who are we looking for?

A mid-level Engineer with experience in Networking technologies for one of our biggest clients.

The Individual should be passionate about technology, experienced in implementing, troubleshoot & managing enterprise network.

Technical Skills:

At least 2+ years of relevant experience as a Network Engineer (at L1.5 support level) and overall experience of 4+ Years.

Roles & Responsibilities mentioned below.

Lab Operations
Assist with lab logistics including rack moves, changes, inventory management, storage area, shipping and receiving as needed.

Perform changes and maintenance to lab thermal curtains, power configurations, and room cabling.

Enforce lab/data center safety standards, audit and assist with security procedures.

Support lab infrastructure cooling and power including shared equipment, network, cross-site lab support.

Provide “hands/eyes” support for all devices (LAN connections, HW, servers) and related operations (for example, build, system monitoring, incident diagnostics, troubleshooting, resolution and escalation) as required to meet the organization’s requirements.

Network Administration
Basic network design knowledge, installation, configuration including switches, routers, and firewalls.

Knowledge of and experience with layers 1-3 on OSI network stack Troubleshooting, switch configuration, port assignments, cable changes

System Administration
General OS administration including Windows, Linux, RHEL, VMware Industry standard virtualization i.e., VMware, Hyper-V, Open stack Hardware management, support, firmware/bios maintenance General hands on end-to-end, troubleshooting of hardware, software and applications.

Document processes for delivering services, implementation, configuration, topology.

Collaborative support of R&D business equipment and provide steady state operations.

Process Skills:
Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence.

During troubleshooting calls have good skills in questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing.  Ability to work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and /or reports/documentation for delivery.

Ability to recognize and create diagrams the server/network topology The ability to quickly react and recognize an escalation to mitigate engineering downtime or impact Good communication and organizational skills at technical and managerial levels  Accustomed to working with highly visible, critical projects with aggressive timelines Effective collaboration and flexibility to enable successful engagements Possesses highly effective problem solving and business process analysis skills, focused on finding ways to streamline operations, utilizing people’s strengths to improve processes, and make for a more effective workplace Adept at using Office Pro tools including Excel, Visio, Word

Behavioral Skills:
Participates as a team member and fosters teamwork by inter-group coordination within the modules of the project.

Effectively collaborates and communicates with the stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction Train and coach members of project groups to ensure effective knowledge management activity.
