Paladin Consulting is currently hiring a ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Software Engineer to join our team working onsite at our client’s office located in Boulder, CO.

Job Title:  Software Engineer
Work Location:  Boulder, CO
Duration:  6 month contract with option to extend or hire

Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Education/Experience Required:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Job Description:

  • Performs basic software activities related to the development of a software product or solution.
  • Determines and examines software alternatives.
  • Recommends and implements basic software solutions.
  • Works on software development projects, with guidance.
  • Sometimes coordinates activities of team members.
  • Contributes to project planning in the team or local unit.
  • Recommends solutions to problems/issues that impact the team.
  • Accountable for completion of technical objectives on schedule and within cost and quality objectives.
  • Failure to accomplish may require additional resources to correct.
  • Intra-organizational and external customer liaison on routine matters
  • Understands and follows existing development processes.
  • Positively and actively supports changing business needs.
  • Documents own work. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work with various development teams to identify and develop strategic and unique solutions
  • Evaluate proposed development solutions using controlled laboratory and field tests and analyze test results
  • Optimization of printer systems via statistical and numerical techniques as well as computer vision/machine learning applications
  • Develop feedback for automated printer control
  • Prepare and present detailed test reports for executive management, and engineering teams as required

Responsibilities:

  • Developers will be working closely with my team on a number of SW projects.
  • In general, we are responsible for developing automation for our continuous forms ink jet printers. These are very large electro/mechanical systems with significant “sensor inputs”, including CIS scanner for near real time image analysis and correction.
  • Additionally we are heavily involved in offline/cloud data analytics of our systems to help service, engineering, marketing, customers, etc.
  • You will closely work with an engineering team with diverse skillsets to develop and integrate next generation automation.
  • Travel up to 10% required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience Developers will need to have strong C++ and Python skills (ideally a few years of professional experience).
  • For the foreseeable future most of the time will be work from home. There will no doubt be a need to come OS to get some in person help or hands on training. In this case the work location above is accurate.

  • Current situation is mask optional in client facilities. However, when walking the common isles with IBM masks are required.
  • Has a basic professional theoretical and conceptual knowledge in a specific field of software development, typically acquired via a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Join our team that has responsibility for creating next generation automation solutions on a complex Commercial Print inkjet product line, with a focus on research and development.
  • This position requires the ability to develop novel solutions utilizing numerous imaging and system inputs, knowledge of control systems, and high-performance code to apply real time updates.
  • Requires experience applying engineering analysis to solve problems associated with complex integrated systems.
  • Must have broad based R&D skills with strong emphasis on coding in Python and C++.
  • Strong coding proficiency with C++ and Python
  • Developing code for high performance on edge devices
  • Productize prototype code for product implementation
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Effective code documentation
  • Flexible and self-motivated, with a problem solver’s altitude
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to redirect efforts and change focus in response to changing business needs

Preferred skills

  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with API development and usage
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology
  • Experience with implementing software on Cloud (AWS, Sisense, etc)
  • Knowledge of SDK development
  • Hands-on experience working with deep learning framework such as Tensorflow
  • Experience with accelerated computing frameworks such as CUDA
  • Experience with implementing cloud distributed training approaches for deep learning models, experience with AWS SageMaker, and secure workflows
  • Familiarity with electronic imaging devices such as line scan cameras, spectrophotometers, densitometers, etc
