Ticket Clerk

City of Greeley

This is a Contract position in Greeley, CO posted October 9, 2021.

Salary: $12.32 – 13.29 hourly

Job Summary:

Sell tickets and relay information concerning events to Union Colony Civic Center patrons.

Essential Functions:

  • Sells tickets via in person, phone, and mail using computerized ticketing system.
  • Informs patrons about performances at the UCCC and related venues that we ticket.
  • Balances cash drawer on a daily basis.
  • Office duties including, but not limited to: mailing projects for UCCC personnel, making phone calls to UCCC volunteers and patrons, clerical projects using Word and Excel, office organization and upkeep, other duties as assigned by Ticket Services Coordinator.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment in both the ticket office and with the larger UCCC staff.
  • Minimum one year computer skills – basic knowledge of Windows environment expected.
  • Minimum one year cash handling skills.
  • Ability to complete work accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner in a busy environment.

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment and box office environment;
  • Extended periods of time at a fixed work station;
  • Frequent and inflexible deadlines;
  • Heavy public contact with the public and on the telephone;
  • Exposure to frequent background noise;
  • Employee may be asked to drive personal vehicle for business purposes;
  • Employee may be required to conduct business in alternate locations within City buildings or field sites, sometimes in formal settings;
  • Employee may be required to work overtime, holidays, evenings, shifts, or weekends;
  • Requires ability to manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions;
  • Employee is subject to inside environment with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes;
  • Employee is subject to driving City vehicle in all weather conditions;
  • Employee is subject to working alone and/or with groups and/or attends meetings;
  • Environment is safe to having minimal hazards that are typically found in a general office environment where there is rarely little or no exposure to injury or accident.

Physical Requirements:

  • Communication skills enough to convey information to the public via telephone and in person;
  • The essential functions of this job require frequent hearing and repetitive motion; continuously sitting and talking; and occasional carrying/lifting light objects (25lbs), crouching, feeling, fingering, reaching, standing, and walking;
  • Mobility enough to stand, sit, and move within a confined work area;
  • Operate standard office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movement;
  • Vision enough to interpret computer screens and documents to assist the public and complete work assignments; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
  • Manual dexterity enough to accurately input, retrieve and verify work assignments; employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
