Lead Dock Worker

This is a Contract position in Greeley, CO posted May 11, 2022.

Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the dock manager in various duties including distribution of product to independent contractors; which includes main newspapers, inserts and supplies. The lead dock worker will also assist in delivering product to open routes as needed under the direction of the Dock Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload pallets of newspaper bundles from our vendor.
  • Distribute newspaper bundles to individual bundle haulers.
  • Prepare paperwork for each day’s distribution.
  • Break down and organize carrier paperwork to facilitate distribution of product to independent contractors (IC).
  • Ensure the amount of product distributed to IC is accurate according to IC route paperwork.
  • Review previous day complaints with IC as needed.
  • Review other route activity with IC as needed.
  • Deliver open routes as needed.
  • Maintain a clean mailroom and parking lot areas.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the independent contractors.
  • This position will require overnight/early morning availability.

  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to operate pallet or hand jacks
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to develop and maintain

    • The hourly wage for Colorado residents is $15.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
