Manufacturing Engineer

nn What will you be doing?

nn nnIn this role, the Manufacturing Engineer provides production line and engineering support to ensure efficiencies in manufacturing operations.

This role requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of continuous improvement
– including developing, implementing and documenting process improvements such as tooling and equipment, validating design specifications and production floor transition of new products.

You will also develop new solutions under guidance and/or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations.nn nn n nn nn Essential Functions/Responsibilities nn nn
• Engineering production support for instruments product linenn nn
• Parts receiving inspectionnn nn
• Instruments production tooling supportnn nn
• Manufacturing engineering support of production process of new productsnn nn
• Improve, characterize and develop manufacturing processes for existing analytical instrument products as well as New Product Introductions (NPI), documenting process changes, driving process / fixture improvements, driving lead and cycle time improvements, cost of quality (COQ), and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) actionsnn nn
• Work together with business leadership across functional teamsnn nn
• Participate in LEAN initiative, and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvementsnn nn
• Bring new ideas and positive support to the current processnn nn
• Implement productivity actions in order to improve the process and respect objectivesnn nn
• Participate in EHS related actions, including improving ergonomics for production personnel and improving safety in own areann nn
• Lead and effectively interface with manufacturing and other support teams to complete projects to meet EHS, production, quality, and cost savings goals within schedule and budgetnn nn
• Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EHS perspective is properly conveyednn nn
• Assure that all engineering designs and technical data are complete and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical / historical base for future reference and to meet customer / end user requirementsnn nn n nn nn Qualifications/Requirements nn nn
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical, Industrial or other equivalent program.nn nn
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering work experience in a production plant environmentnn nn n nn nn Skills and Abilities nn nn
• Strong oral and written communication skillsnn nn
• Automation skillsnn nn
• Knowledge in CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit Designnn nn
• Familiar with industrial tools, machinery and manufacturing proceduresnn nn
