Description:Job Title: Manufacturing TechnicianJob Code: IMS20220303-78087Job Location: Loveland, CO-Relocation is availableJob Description:Position Overview:The Wescam USA (WUSA) Service Center department is looking for a highly motivated and talented manufacturing technician (Mfg Tech) to provide quality service and repair of complex MX-10/15 airborne surveillance turrets. The Mfg Tech repair support will occur directly onsite at the WUSA facility at Loveland, Colorado. The Mfg Tech must always project a positive image of our department and company that will meet our customer’s highest expectations for service and support of their L3Harris Technologies equipment.The most important performance objective for this department is to repair, test and maintain gimbal systems in accordance with pre-established processes, while adhering to customer deadlines. A successful MX-10/15 Repair Technician understands the gimbal system, understands how all components work together including peripheral interfaces, and able to effectively troubleshoot, repair and test a failed system.Part of a motivated extended team that supports various U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD Military customers by repairing mission critical Wescam sensor systems. This position requires a self-motivated, creative, forward thinking and energetic individual. Excellent communication, relationship building, and problem-solving skills are a must. The best MX-10/15 repair technicians are strong team players and customer focused. Must work well independently and can be relied upon to make difficult decisions that will affect the performance and availability of mission critical systems.Duties and Responsibilities:* Ability to troubleshoot and repair MX-10/15 products to the line replaceable unit level. Understand and troubleshoot problems related to aircraft integration of the MX-10/15 product line. Performs Preventative Maintenance on MX-10/15 turrets.* Perform incoming functional test procedures* Troubleshoot and repair systems by replacing faulty components/assemblies* Install software and firmware in accordance with instructions* Prepare required service documentation in a timely fashion* Develop troubleshooting, repair and servicing of Wescam MX-10/15 systems within 90 days. Initial MX Training may include formal 2 week training course, followed by extensive on-the-job training.* Attend off site training courses and self-study as required to maintain competency and compliance with serviced units, company policies, and procedures* Interface with internal and external customers* Provide regular status reports on work in progress* Uphold safety requirements by wearing PPE and properly using work equipment in designated areas* Work against contractual deadlines to meet customer delivery dates* Access and utilize web based technical publications* Follow ESD, FOD and Lasers procedures* Perform post-maintenance on tests per procedure guidelines* Fully proficient individual contributor. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.* Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.* Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement* Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.* Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities.Minimum Qualifications:* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.* Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. In lieu of formal education, 5+ years of relevant manufacturing technician/field service experience may be considered.* A Mfg Repair Technician for a defense contractor specializing in high performance stabilized imaging generally has at least 5 years experience as an electro-mechanical technician on products that are similar in complexity, prior experience servicing systems in the field and in the factory.* Direct experience with systems integration, software, optical and electro-mechanical systems is preferred.* Previous end-user experience with aircraft, tower, or aerostat-based MX-10/15 sensor systems is desired.* Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE), Special Operations, AFSOC, DOD, or other similar experience is preferred.* Demonstrable knowledge of troubleshooting electronics and mechanical systems, customer service skills and being a part of a motivated and diverse team. Must have the ability to troubleshoot system faults to the line replaceable unit level and the ability to work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to take corrective action.* Knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel is required, as well as knowledge of specialized software test programs. Knowledge in electronic and mechanical test equipment is also required. Familiarity with government contracting is preferred but not required.* Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.* Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities* Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects. Acute attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.* Ability to work independently and within a team setting* Must be U.S. Citizen* Must maintain eligibility requirements to access U.S. classified informationWorking Conditions:* Able to spend considerable time standing, bending, twisting, bending and kneeling while building a variety of assemblies.* Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and reach for items on shelves* Able to work with general manufacturing hand tools, computers and electronic troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, power supplies.* Use basic hand tools for mechanical assembly, metalworking machines and precision measuring and testing instruments.* Normal work schedule is Monday-Friday (40 hours/week). The Mfg Tech must also be available to provide occasional off hour or weekend tasks in support of the customer requirements, as needed.* This position may require the ability to travel domestically. Up to 10% travel may be needed.* Work may be conducted onsite at the repair facility location, flight line, aviation hangar, test facility, in the field, or in a manufacturing/test environment.* Must be able to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical internal customers.* Must be able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven environment, without sacrificing product quality. Ability to logically address, analyze, and resolve problems.In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $43,000 – $80,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
