Based in our Boulder, Colorado location, you will collaborate within a global organization to continuously improve the quality of purchased mechanical components and assemblies by developing qualification plans using the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) methodology, resolving non-conformances via root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, participating in projects for New Product Development (NPD) and strategic initiatives, and optimizing the systems and tools used by the global Supply Quality Engineering team.AS A SUPPLY QUALITY ENGINEER, YOU WILL:Establish new suppliers and qualify components for productionPerform audits of suppliers’ quality management systems and processes.Create qualification plans and verify PPAP deliverables.Ensure supplier compliance to applicable agency/code requirements.Monitor and manage the quality of purchased componentsRespond to production quality issues and lead disposition of non-conformances.Develop receiving inspection plans and verification methods.Provide supplier quality input for metrics reporting and organizational communication.Continuously improve supplier quality and performanceAnalyze supplier quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.Lead cross-functional root cause and corrective action projects.Implement solutions that optimize the balance of cost, quality, and performance.Optimize Supply Quality Engineering systems, processes, and toolsAdvocate for the needs of specific products in global system improvement initiatives.WHO YOU ARE:You make new connections and build relationships in other areas and teams.

You seek out experts and innovators to learn about the impact emerging technologies might have on your business.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:BS in EngineeringAvailable for domestic/international travel as requiredLegal authorization to work in the United States PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:BS in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred, MS in Engineering is a plusExperience or internship in any of the following disciplines: Supply Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Design Engineering and/or Research and DevelopmentExposure to manufacturing processes, GD& T, quality management systems, process auditing, Lean, Six Sigma and problem-solving tools.Certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, Certified Auditor)Able to work well in a team environment and partner with colleagues around the globe.WHY EMERSON?Our Commitment to Our PeopleWe invest in our employees to ensure they have the marketplace knowledge, skills and competencies to compete and lead in a global economy.

In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the salary range for this role is $58,600 – $89,700 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
