Summary

The Engineering Technician – Instrumentation supports production operations and engineering and maintenance activities for process instrumentation and control systems throughout the manufacturing operation and facility/utility systems.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support unit operations in troubleshooting and improving instrumentation and control system (I&C) elements.
  • Ensure GMP documentation is provided related to maintenance, servicing, and change control activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety procedures, and other company policies in the instrumentation/controls domain.
  • Recommends and applies new technology for improved reliability and efficiencies.
  • Area and equipment labeling and organization for I&C.
  • Supports identification and stocking of critical spare/repair parts for I&C
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write legibly in English.
  • Strong computer skills sufficient to read and write email, read standard operating procedures, develop technical documentation in support of engineering projects.
  • Ability to be a team player that demonstrates reliability and responsibility
  • Detail oriented with the ability to complete written and verbally assigned tasks following specific procedures.
  • Ability to interact constructively with peers and support groups.

Education / Experience

  • 5+ years general experience as technician or mechanic in industrial operations, preferably with a significant portion in instrumentation and controls
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in GMP operations, bioprocessing preferred.
  • Associates degree in Instrumentation & Controls or Electronics desired
  • Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements

Compensation Range

$27.00 – $39.00 per hour
