GENERAL PURPOSE:The employee in this position will wash refuse, recycling and yard debris carts that are returned to the City following customer use. In addition, the employee shall be responsible for making minor cart repairs.This position is non-benefit eligible, part year, 10 month max working 40 hours per week with Medical coverage option only.Salary range: $12.32 – $18.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.Position will close to applicants at 12:00 P.M. M.S.T. on Monday, March 8, 2021.Eligible for:* Retirement – 457 employee funded plan* Medical Leave – Up to 48 hours accrued. Accrue 1 hour of leave per 30 hours worked* Per the ACA, employees working 30 Plus hours per week are eligible to enroll in one of the two 2 medical plan options – HDHP & PPOESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Pressure wash exterior/interior of solid waste carts. Check cart lid and wheels for proper functioning and make any needed repairs. Neatly stage carts for hauling to storage location. Clean up debris in wash bay. Maintain inventory of repair parts and washing supplies. The employee will be required to follow all established safety rules, regulations and procedures.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:SUPERVISORY DUTIES:NoneJOB QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, skills and abilities:Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with supervisor, employees and customers. Ability to work independently. Must be at least 18 years old.Education and/or Experience:Previous construction or mechanical experience desirable. Previous experience as a general laborer, maintenance worker or other labor trade desirable. Some mechanical aptitude required.Licensure and/or certifications:Material and equipment directly used:Pressure washer, shovel, rake, broom, scrub brush and small hand tools.Working Environment and physical requirements:Requires bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, moving and placing objects (up to 50 lbs.), and performing strenuous manual labor to perform the essential functions of the job. Manual dexterity is required to complete work tasks throughout safe and proper operation of hand tools, power tools, and motor vehicles.
