Veterinary Technician

Aspen Grove Veterinary Care

This is a Full-time position in Fort Collins, CO posted April 2, 2021.

We are currently recruiting for a skilled, full time veterinary technician. Aspen Grove Veterinary Care is a busy 3-doctor, small animal hospital dedicated to excellence in veterinary medicine, compassionate care, and client experience. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to our patients from annual vaccines to more extensive treatments such as internal medicine, orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, and urgent care. Some of our many on-site capabilities include: digital x-ray, ultrasound, laser surgery, defibrillation, laser therapy, full laboratory, and advanced dental care.

Our veterinary nurses are utilized to their fullest potential. We are looking for candidates who have a strong foundation of both technical and client service skills, anesthetic monitoring, the ability to run in-house diagnostics, perform blood draws, assist with diagnostic imaging, care for hospitalized patients, write medical notes, and deliver an outstanding experience for our clients.

Minimum qualifications and requirements to be considered:
– Minimum two years of professional veterinary technician experience required to be considered
– High School Diploma (or equivalent)
– General knowledge of zoonotic diseases and infectious disease control required
– General knowledge of medical terminology required
– Must be able to demonstrate proper animal restraint
– Experience with sample collection and basic laboratory diagnostics
– Experience with surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
– Obvious ability to deliver compassionate nursing care.
– Able to work under pressure and stressful situations while handling multiple tasks
– Attentive to details and excellent organizational skills
– Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and client-focused attitude
– Self-motivated to achieve results and maintain high standards
– Work flexible shifts – days, evenings, weekend and holidays
– Solid computer skills
