Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Seek business opportunities and develop client relationships that are in accordance with the corporate mission, core values and strategic plan.
  • Meet frequently with existing and prospective clients to build relationships and identify potential project opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong business network.
  • Coordinate with Division Managers and Team Leaders to understand the specific business development needs of the firm’s areas of practice.
  • Represent a positive image of the firm and enhance the firm’s image through personal leadership, membership in community and professional organizations and participation in community service.
  • Establish performance goals for business development activities.
  • Track business development opportunities via client relationship management (CRM) application.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Three years of Business Development or Outside Sales experience. AEC industry experience is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of AEC industry terminology and delivery methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM applications.
  • Scheduling flexibility necessary with strong strategic, analytical, organizational and sales skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to travel by personal vehicle with a demonstrated record of safe driving.
  • Require minimal supervision and ability to work independently to achieve established performance goals.
