Catholic Charities is the official domestic relief agency of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Donor Relations Specialist is a key member of the Catholic Charities’ Fund Development team.

The focus of this position is to develop and manage a portfolio of leadership level giving donors by initiating, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with individual donors who partner financially at the mid-level of giving with Catholic Charities.

This position has the option of working in the office or remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Cultivate donor relationships by updating, appreciating, and asking mid-level donors to deepen their financial partnership with Catholic Charities.Manage a portfolio of 400 600 donors and prospects.Design stewardship touches that are meaningful and impactful aligning donor interests and passions, communicating donor impact, and program impact.Execute strategy through phone, email, and USPS communication.Use a donor-centered moves management system to organize activities and move donors through a process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship.Solicit and close gifts from mid-level donors.Update and track all activity with call notes, pipelining, and new information about donors in Salesforce.Work with the Communications team to secure program information to create donor offers and to report to donors on how their giving made a difference.Research, identify, and promote hand-off of high capacity donors to the Director of Donor Relations.Collaborate with Development team for gift administration, prospect research, and donor communications.Perform donor cultivation and solicitations for Celebration of Hope sponsorships, match gifts, appeal gifts and regret gifts.Participate in trainings and coordination meetings as requested by Supervisor.Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived and or worked experience required.

2 4 years’ experience in fundraising and managing donor relations required.Ability to effectively work with standard office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint required.

Working knowledge and/or previous experience using Salesforce preferred.Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.Commitment to Catholic Charities mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.

High attention to detail required.Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.

Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings and weekends.Travel between sites in Portland required.

Must have driver’s license, access to vehicle and ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
