Ensures adequate functioning of all equipment used in obtaining Echocardiograms.(br /((br /(JOB QUALIFICATIONS(br /(Education or Formal Training(br /((br /(Graduate of an Echocardiography Training program.(br /((br /(Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)(br /(BLS required(br /(ARDMS RDCS registered or registry eligible preferred(br /(Knowledge, Skill and Ability(br /(Demonstrates skills in obtaining complete anatomical and blood flow information(br /(Demonstrates understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and pathophysiology and the ability to recognize structural and functional abnormalities during imaging and to extend and/or modify the exam as appropriate for that individual patient(br /(Demonstrates independence in obtaining comprehensive cardiac imaging and appropriate clinical information(br /(Demonstrates operating knowledge of the equipment used with the ability to troubleshoot associated technical problems and problem solve(br /(Ability to interact effectively with patients and significant others, physicians and other personnel in the overall care of the patient(br /(Experience(br /((br /(Minimum of 2 years experience performing Echocardiograms strongly preferred(br /((br /(WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES(br /(Requires the ability to bend, crouch, twist or hold awkward positions for several minutes.(br /(Requires sitting for extended periods.(br /(Functional physical demands include manual dexterity, fine motor skills and reaching.(br /(The following senses will be needed for essential duties of the job: speech, vision, hearing and touch.(br /(ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(br /(Explains purpose of test and procedure to the patient.(br /(Obtains necessary clinical history of present illness, reason for referral, and auscultation when appropriate.(br /(Enters record keeping data on the patients Electronic Medical Record.(br /(Performs test in accordance with developed policies and procedures and appropriate standards of care.(br /(Obtains high quality cardiac ultrasound images including M-mode, two dimensional, pulse wave, continuous wave, and color doppler modalities.(br /(Measures all parameters obtained from the study on the digital echo system.(br /(OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES(br /(Establishes technologists’ on-call schedule.(br /(Coordinates scheduling and performance of special procedures, e.g.
