HR Generalist

This is a Contract position in Boulder, CO posted March 29, 2021.

General Responsibilities: Provides consultation on human resource management issues to include: staffing, employee relations; harassment; performance management; dispute resolution; compliance and integrity; policy administration; and disseminating and providing guidance on company policies and procedures in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. Part of HR team – works with all employees and implements practice-wide HR initiatives; and will drive HR projects as assigned. Works with Leadership and department supervisors to review needs and develop/implement appropriate solutions. Advise on the full spectrum of employee decisions (performance, conduct, hiring, termination, training, etc). Investigates employee relation issues; identifies issues, facts, policy violations and other culture/values that impact the workplace; and recommends solutions and how to obtain resolution. Implements/delivers approved plan and strategy. Assists management with writing effective and accurate job descriptions, requisition process and approvals, transaction administration, salary administration, support recruiting process. Works with HR Specialist to ensure leaves are handled in accordance with current regulations, policies and procedures. Advises managers on return to work issues, facilitates interactive process as required, etc. Recruit qualified candidates for non-exempt/exempt positions. Responsible for making sure appropriate documentation is collected and maintained for Employment verification (I-9) and is entered in HRIS software. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Other duties as assigned. Work Environment: Duties are performed in an office environment. Must be able to sit at desk for long periods of time; stoop and kneel to file; walk to fax and copy machine. Via has headquarters in Boulder and a satellite location in Denver, will need to travel to different company sites and job fairs. Qualifications: The HR Generalist must have good interpersonal skills, sound judgment and good problem-solving skills. BS/BA in Human Resources, Business, or related field and at least three (3) years Generalist experience required. Knowledge of HR practices and principles, and all applicable employment, compensation, benefits, recruiting practices, safety laws and regulations. Experience administering HR processes for hourly non-exempt population in a shift work environment. Strong understanding of DOL FSLA provisions and application. HRIS experience strongly preferred (Paylocity). Strong initiative for process improvement. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Handle employee information and privacy with utmost confidentiality and professionalism. HR Certification (PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred. Knowledge of transit industry, unionized workforce, and non-profit industry is a plus. PI132229638
