A Load Forecasting and Analytics Intern is to assist in various areas within the Market Operations Support Department related to demand forecasting, data analysis, and supporting the electric power market operations team within AECC.

Responsibilities: ResponsibilitiesAssist in creation of analytics ready data setsAssist with development of SAS forecasting modelsSupport development of portfolio optimization strategies Perform analytical reviews of hourly demand forecasts Evaluation of forecast accuracy and usefulness Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentPursuing a degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or Meteorological SciencesAdept in utilization of Microsoft Office suitePossesses analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsDetailed and accuracy orientedHigh level of skill in analytical writing and technical documentationGood communication skillsSelf-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionDesired QualificationsExperience with SAS/R/Python programmingExperience in creating analytics ready datasets from complex and diverse data sourcesExperience with statistical and timeseries forecasting methodologiesExperienced with analytics and understanding of data science methodologiesSQL Programming capabilities and experience EEO/AA/M/F/VETS/DISABLEDArkansas Electric Cooperative, Inc.
