SURGICALINNOVATIONS sets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products andservices that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall,pelvic region, and the head and neck.A Day in the LifeAs a core member of the Operational Excellence team, you will meet the site’s short and long-term goals forimproved quality performance, increased service levels, reduced COGS, and EHS performance in support of theBoulder Site and Global Business Unit goals.This role supports ~$320MM cost of production across a variety of product families, within two Focus Factories,manufactured at the Boulder Operations Campus.Reporting to the Boulder Site Operational Excellence Black Belt, you will:Coach and trainer creation and sustainability of OpEx Structure as defined within the Medtronic OperatingSystem global operational excellence programDevelop and execute Operational Excellence programs and efforts at the site short and long-term goalsachievement assuring culture and systems development in support of continuous improvement in cost and quality performance.Manage Lean Sigma Certification Programs (Green Belt/Black Belt) and assure resources are leveraged forsite continuous improvement activitiesResponsible for Operational Excellence training programs and events for both focus factories (DMAIC, A3Problem Solving, First Time Quality, etc) assuring training and events support site goals for continuous improvementAssure Operations Excellence training and programs are in place and managed to reduce operational costsby 5-7% yearly.Lead plant improvement projects of significant size and scope both within and outside of FFresponsibilityAssist plant management in selecting projects, project/team leaders and champions that align withbusiness/functional goals and strategies.Lead the coordination and deployment of the Focus Factory Operational Excellence plan for CellOperating System (COS) and Medtronic Operating System (MOS)Lead / coach COS conversion teams through COS playbook activity for successful a “Go Live” results.Work with NPD teams on the Design for COS of new Production Cells.Assist leadership in establishing baseline and target metrics for key processes.Coordinate, and conduct as applicable, training in key Operational Excellence areas.Support the Operational Excellence Manager in the overall deployment of OPEX training, best practicesharing and in mentoring project teams and leaders.Coach, motivate and foster professional development of indirect/direct reports.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree requiredMinimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experienceNice to HaveBS/BA degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other related field of study with a minimum of 7 years ofbusiness operations and/or plant manufacturing or engineering experience which included 3+ years of demonstrated process improvement program success.

Certified Black Belt or Master Black Belt*Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Financial acumen.Ability to manage cross functionally with direct and indirect influenceAbility to coach and facilitate individually and at the large-scale levelExperience with Lean policy deploymentExperience with Cell manufacturing system deployment for lean manufacturingAbility to directly lead and/or coordinate high-impact process improvement projects.Ability to manage multiple projects.Proven skills working with cross-functional teams and presentation skills.Shingo Prize ExperienceORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:The OpEx Black Belt is responsible for coordinating strategic direction between Focus Factories, executionplans in support of the Manufacturing Focus Factory and other shared service organizations within the plantstructure.

Close working relationships and consensus building are required with all other site Leadership.(Other FF OpEx Leaders, Finance, Quality)Office & Clean Room environment*Lean or Six Sigma based certification is expected at various levels.
