Job Duties: 
The faculty member will conduct his/her assignments and co-curricular college activities in a manner consistent with the philosophy and purposes of Aims Community College as stated in the school catalog.

1. The primary purpose of the faculty member is to teach. The faculty member is also responsible for scholarly and creative activities (professional development) and service to the college.
2. The instructor should be able to teach Medical/Surgical, Psychiatric, and/or OB/Pediatric Nursing. Be able to interact with students to provide opportunities to learn, create conditions that facilitate learning, and using techniques and methods that create a high probability that learning will occur.
3. Interact with students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings to provide optimum learning opportunities. Engage students in interactive learning while maintaining control of the class. Provide effective and high quality instruction; competent student advising as needed; assist with evaluating and revising/modifying the curriculum; teach at various clinical agencies as assigned.
4. Administer and grade written tests and assignments. Demonstrate required nursing skills in the laboratory and clinical agency settings; critique and eventually evaluate student performance in the laboratory and clinical agency settings.
5. Communicate with and listen to students in order to create a positive learning environment. 
6. Use both verbal and nonverbal communication to assist with student development.
7. Must meet criteria of the Colorado State Board of Nursing (SBON) and to maintain career technical certification to teach.
8. Teach concepts of nursing education and demonstrate required nursing skills for students.
9. Follow Nursing Program Curriculum.

10. Demo all skills identified on the nursing skills checklist.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a part/full-time basis.
1. Master’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing plus 4,000 hours of experience.
2. Must possess a current, unrestricted RN license.
3. Minimum of two years nursing experience.
4. Must hold CPR certification or qualify for same within three months of hire.
6. Hold or qualify for a full-time, post-secondary vocational instructor’s teaching credential as a Health Science Technology issued by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education.

Minimum Payment Amount:

C – Lecture – $1,148.00 per credit

D – Recitation: Discussion/Seminar – $1,148.00 per credit

E – Laboratory/Career and Technical – $1,252.00 per credit

F1 – Laboratory: Academic – $1,382.00 per credit

F2 – Laboratory: Academic – $1,565.00 per credit

G – Physical Education/Recreation Courses – $1,382.00 per credit

H – Studio: Art – $1,382.00 per credit

J – Studio: Music – $1,469.00 per credit

L2 – Clinical or Internship Instructor On-Site – $1,382.00 per credit

L3 – Clinical or Internship Rad Tech – $2,694.00 per credit

L4 – Clinical or Internship Nursing – $2,815.00 – $3,127.00 per credit based on employee’s highest applicable degree

M2 – Clinical or Internship Instructor On-Site – $1,382.00 per credit

M3 – Clinical or Internship Nursing and/or Nurse Aide (Health/Nurse Aide) – $1,877.00 – $2,085.00 per credit, based on employee’s highest applicable degree

In certain instances, due to low enrollment, instructors payment will be based on part-time per credit pay and pro-rated on a 10% per student basis.

Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
