Principal Strategic Planning Associate
– Business Analyst Focus
– Respiratory Interventions
– Remote Option

Preference is for the position to be onsite in CO but will consider US remote.

In this exciting position you will develop and maintain all Enrich models for all OU products in partnership with global marketing, the OU-led markets, the region-led markets and other functional groups such as R&D.

You will own the product portfolio management function for the OU, including Active Portfolio Management – perform quantitative analysis on the product portfolio and make resource allocation recommendations for optimal ROI, identify areas of increased investment, identify areas of divestiture, calculate WAMGR for current and adjacent markets.

In addition you will evaluate how the OU portfolio of products perform relative to each other, strategically prioritize these products and identify what gaps in the portfolio should be filled because they represent the most viable opportunities for new markets, increased revenue and other business objectives.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Run quarterly investment committee meetings Support the Business Development and Licensing function by building dynamic and realistic financial models that accurately depict the profitability and risks of various inorganic opportunities Attend major medical meetings, meet with customers and regularly liaise with field representatives to gather market and product information, identify needs and assess opportunities.

Utilize business analytics to spot trends, opportunities and key issues facing the market and the business; work with leadership to assemble action plans and appropriate business models to address those issues.

Maintain various financial dashboards used by the OU Communicate strategic metrics and measurements to various management groups Synthesize data and communicate conclusions effectively with other members of the strategy team, the Respiratory Interventions team, and the MedSurg leadership team.  Independently lead various strategic initiatives Plays a major role in leading the annual strategic plan process and other periodic strategic efforts including quarterly business reviews, quarterly innovation reports, monthly marketing team meetings and quarterly strategy management team meetings.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree plus 7+ years (5 years with advanced degree) of experience in Finance, Strategy, Engineering, Project Management, Business Development and/or Marketing.

Nice to Have Experience working in the medical device or healthcare industry Experience in a finance, strategic planning or marketing role with a specific emphasis on building product financial models, active portfolio management and investment trade-off decision making.

Strong financial acumen including the ability to build pro forma models of business development (inorganic) opportunities and evaluate inbound financial models from prospective targets.

Ability to manage large projects or processes with input from various sources and with limited oversight Experience solving complex business problems using detailed data gathering and analysis Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, influential and presentation skills.

An ability to effectively manage-by-influence on cross-functional teams A strong team orientation and a collaborative approach to solving problems Ability to work in an ambiguous environment A demonstrated strategic mindset About Medtronic
