    Summary:
    Directs and oversees high quality, licensed child care for school age children in BVSD schools through the SAC program.

    Administers a broad range of tasks and operations including direct supervision of School Age Care (SAC) staff.

    Oversees daily operations of SAC, including responsibility for hiring and supervising staff, communicating with families, ensuring licensing and certifications are current, and implementing the curriculum and training program to be used by all staff onsite.The SAC Coordinator serves as a partner for communicating and problem-solving with team members in Community Schools, principals and their designees across all elementary and K-8 schools in the District, custodial and facilities teams, community liaisons, special education and support services, IT and other departments throughout the District.

    The Coordinator is responsible for building relationships in the child care community in Boulder County that elevates that status, understanding, and reputation of the program.

    Responsibilities:
    -Creates the staffing schedules across all school sites and plans and organizes off school day programs for the schools.

    -Increase program enrollment across school sites by building a presence in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

    This includes connecting with local businesses, working with the Early Childhood Council, Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) in the various counties served, housing and human services partners, and developing a sustainable marketing plan in collaboration with the Community Schools Marketing and Communications Specialist.

    -Supervision, training, and hiring of qualified child care providers to work in the program.

    -Observe child care staff to help evaluate staff performance, relationships, site environment, curriculum development, and licensing compliance.

    -Must ensure providers are qualified by the State, have a high degree of compassion and understanding of child development for students between the ages of 4.5 years old to 13 years old, and are able to implement a school age child care and enrichment curriculum with fidelity.

    -Ability to problem-solve issues and concerns and coach and train employees.

    Create action plans based on observation as needed to improve employee performance.

    -Training for staff needs to include professional development on classroom management, communication, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), discipline, and staff management.

    -Oversight of the curriculum, including a scope and sequence for school age children that the staff can implement on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

    -Develop, coordinate, plan, and facilitate full day/school day off programming.

    -Operational duties include ensuring: the program is compliant with state rules and regulations for school age child care programs through the Colorado Department of Human Services; staffing is compliant with ratios on a daily basis; collaborating with the Sub Coordinator so that substitutes are secured in a timely manner; safety and security protocols are written and conform to state and district requirements.

    -Communicate with families, answer email and phone calls, give tours of the programs and provide excellent customer service in a timely manner.

    -Maintain ongoing communication with and between families, staff, school and other agencies.

    -Establish written metrics of success for the program, communicate those metrics and hold the appropriate individuals accountable for success on a quarterly and annual basis.

    -Continue professional growth by attending meetings, trainings, and conferences as a representative of BVSD Child Care Programs.

    -Visit all SAC sites at least once a month to observe staff, listen to concerns, problem solve, and get to know the students, families, and site needs.

    -Ensure all licensing guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Human Services, Boulder County Health Department, BVSD policies and procedures and child care policies and procedures are followed at all sites.

    -Meet with inspectors from various agencies to review and evaluate site operations and compliance.

    Oversee, ensure, and respond to BVSD child care compliance with the Colorado Dept.

    of Human Services child care licensing regulations.

    Maintain accurate licensing files for all child care staff and sites.

    Update child care staff on current licensing policies.

    -Meet regularly with the Child Care Programs Manager, staff, PSE and EC Coordinators, and members of Community Schools central office team regularly to proactively problem-solve concerns and improve the overall functioning of the program.

    -Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    -Bachelor’s Degree with a major in one of the following: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Recreation, or a major in the human service field (transcripts must be uploaded to the online application)
    -Must meet or exceed the education and experience requirements for a School Age Child Care Program Director as established by the Colorado Department of Human Services ( Rule 7.712.42 as of 6/30/21 ).

    -Minimum five years of direct experience supervising school age child care programs.

    -Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application
    -Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process
    -Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license
    -Current CPR/First Aid/Standard Precautions certification; must acquire within 1 month

    Preferred:
    -Advanced knowledge of age-appropriate developmental and enrichment activities for school age students.

    -Intermediate knowledge and understanding of school district academic and social emotional curriculum and strategic plan initiatives relevant to the elementary and K-8 levels.

    -Experience providing professional development and training to staff.

    -Knowledge of State of Colorado Child Care Licensing rules and regulations.

    Salary Information:
    -Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
