This is a Full-time position in Fort Collins, CO posted November 23, 2021.

Position Purpose: The Supplier Quality Tech (SQT) supports the Supplier Quality Engineering group through processing First Article Inspection (FAI) and Supplier Part Approval Process (SPAP) submissions, selective receiving inspection, analysis and processing of internal NCR material and other administrative and logistical support duties.

Essential Functions: A level two SQT has expert knowledge of the processes defined below, and is cross-trained in all areas.

Processing FAI, SPAP and material certification submissions from suppliers accurately and timely including: handling and analysis of parts and/or supporting documentation; completing maintaining associated records and logs; communicating submission status as needed to SQEs, supplier managers, engineers,suppliers, and product family members.

Conducting selective receiving inspection under the direction of the SQE group including: inspection of material, completing and maintaining related documentation, communication of inspection results to concerned parties and processing of material after inspection through the WISE system.

Processing internal and external nonconforming material as needed in support of SQE including: retrieval and analysis of material, interpretation of preliminary findings and restatement of proble statements to ensure supplier understanding of problem, processing material through the necessary WISE screens, communication of status to concerned parties, maintaining necessary documentation and processing material to suppliers or scrap.

General support of SQEs including supplier communication, Supplier Corrective Action Request processing, product evaluation and sorting activities, and interfacing with Woodward members and internal/external processes and systems as necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Other Functions: Represent and support SQEs during internal and external audits regarding the essential functions above.

Leads Continous Improvement (CI) projects.

Participates cross-functionally in support of related CI projects in other areas.

Maintains and updates departmental work instructions and documentation.

Training and mentoring of SQT team members.

Materials and Equipment Used: Inspection tools and gages, PC, telephone, file systems.

Working Environment / Physical Activities: Manufacturing, mechanical assembly and test, and office are the working environment.

Physical activities include lifting, moving and inspecting mechanical, electrical and machined components and sub-assemblies.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills to lead team if required. Thorough understanding of the principals of AS9100, ISO-9001, and/or TS-16949. Knowledge of engineering drawings and industry standards. Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to ANSI Y14.5. Demonstrated expertise in mechanical inspection methods and skills including surface plate work, hand tools and gages, etc. Ability to learn applicable statistical techniques, e.g., capability studies and Gage R&Rs. Knowledge of supplier PPAP process requirements. Ability to accurately record and manage data, records, files and other documents to support tasks. Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks. Ability to use computer systems including WISE, BDDS and MS Office. Effectively communicate both orally and in writing, at all levels –
– internally and with suppliers. L1 & L2 Education or Formal Training: High School graduate is required. Quality system courses, experience or training is helpful. L1 Experience Required: Minimum of two years experience in quality systems, mechanical inspection, machining, and/or electrical component and assembly inspection Green Belt preferred L2 Experience Required: Minimum of five years experience in quality systems, mechanical inspection, machining, and/or electrical component and assembly inspection Green Belt preferred Woodward offers an extensive Total Reward package for this position, including: Estimated pay: $40,000
