SummaryPosted: Aug 18, 2021Role Number: 200276063Apple is looking for passionate, self-motivated, individual who will be responsible for managing optical, chemical and assembly labs supporting the PPO technical staff at the Colorado Technology Center.

Your responsibilities will include equipment purchase guidance, equipment installation/operational qualification, maintenance, calibration of equipment, lab organization and materials support.

You will help guide the technical staff on safe working practices and industrial health and safety compliance within the lab environment.

You will also coordinate project work with internal and external facilities and equipment vendors, author laboratory documentation and clearly and concisely communicate updates to the larger team.

vacuum valves, traps, rotary vane pumps, scroll pumps and venturi pumpsGas delivery systems e.G.

Hi and Lo pressure gas bottles (perform gas bottle changes), mass flow controllers (MFC’s) and gas distribution manifolds and componentsChemical delivery systems e.G.

vaporizers, pressurized chemical bottlesTemperature measurement and control systems including PID controllers and thermocouplesHeat/Cooling chiller systems.Programmable logic controllers (PLC) and ability to read ladder logic programsPneumatic systems and components e.G.

actuators, cylinders, check valves, filters, pressure regulatorsDI water systems and components e.G.

pumps, filters, PH and resistivity testingRF systems and components e.G.

RF generators, auto match impedance matching and how to troubleshoot arcing issues related to plasma generationMotion control systems including micro piezo motors/driversElectronic systems and components with ability to use test equipment in troubleshooting down to the component level, e.G.

multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generatorsElectrical systems e.G.

electrical panels, transformers, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), amperage, low/high voltage and power ratingsGeneral knowledge of building HVAC systems, special exhaust (solvent) ducting and fans, house vacuum, CDA, and N2 gas bulk delivery systemExperience with Clean Room operations, ISO 7 to ISO 5, and best practices (theory of operation and particle detection meters)Experience with optical and chemical labsKnowledge of Osha safety requirementsExperience with chemical safety and handling and enforcementUnderstanding laser safety methods, procedures and enforcementLab / equipment / facility management experience and continuous improvementEffective written and interpersonal communication skills, proven ability to work cross-functionally, harness the power of teamwork and maintain a positive relationship to technical partnersPreferred Qualifications:Solid understanding of MacOS and Windows, general test equipment software, and TCP/IP networkingScripting skills (Python preferred)Description-Manage multiple lab environments and related equipment where chemical formulation/synthesis, opto-mechanical assembly and optical measurement/analysis activities are supported Support lab equipment purchasing identifying facility, safety and networking requirements Responsible for lab equipment installation and coordination with vendors to enable site acceptance testing Responsible for lab equipment troubleshooting utilizing equipment manuals, I/O maps, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC diagrams and schematics with experience to request vendor support as needed Effectively address highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolution to problems through multi-tasking and prioritization based on the business need Establish and follow a calibration/maintenance program supporting all lab equipment Perform safety audits with EH& S, resolve any outstanding safety audit issues keeping Apple in compliance Maintain and control access to lab spaces and assisting in space allocation, security compliance, facilities activities and general operations Manage procurement, inventorying and distribution of lab consumables and BOM materials Asset management and tracking of all laboratory capital equipment Manage lab relocation and new lab planning when required Identify, procure and maintain tools and spare parts required to execute repairs and preventive maintenance activities Define, document, and enforce lab policies and guidelines Keep lab spaces clean and organized; improve lab space efficiency through continuous organizational and procedural/process improvements Other Requirements: Required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes Significant time will be spent in a cleanroom environment (wearing full clean room suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses) Will entail work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light and lasers Occasionally climbing stairs or ladder to work in elevated locations and working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles or passagewaysEducation & ExperienceThe idealcandidate will have a Bachelors degree or its equivalent in technical or vocation training.

Lab Manager starts at a minimum annual salary of 142,100.

The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience.

Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
