How You’d Spend Your Time

Talking with diverse prospective applicants and residents about low-income housing options and what it takes to qualify and stay qualified. Visiting properties and

Doing paperwork! It has to be accurate, timely, and have every detail perfect. Correct information is what makes low-income/affordable housing possible. So, we’re looking for a person who loves to dig into details and produce information that serves our clients and Thistle!

Working with the Senior Community Manager, your Supervisor, and the excellent team in the property management department

The Work

Excellent customer service is required in all interactions with applicants and tenants

Keeping rental apartment filled with qualified tenants

Marketing to potential renters with support from marketing consultants and community partners

Working with and contributing to a team of other professionals on leasing, compliance, and community management through dedication to detail, joy in the mission, and respect for your teammates

And paperwork:

Making sure all compliance requirements for each property are reviewed and reported appropriately

Knowing when to generate necessary notices to tenants in a timely manner

What it Takes to be a relevant applicant and a fit to our organization:

1. You have a thorough knowledge of low-income housing tax credit or other affordable housing programs

2. You have two years’ experience in property management, or with a housing regulatory organization/agency

3. You have a high school diploma or equivalent (more education is even better)

4. You have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle and are willing and able to drive to the Gunbarrel neighborhood of Boulder every workday and to drive between properties as needed for showings

5. You are fully vaccinated.

How Thistle Operates

We work in a well-established collaborative environment of about 40 people (10+ in the Property Management Department) where you’ll have significant responsibility and the opportunity to engage with professional resources to amplify your experience. Work is accomplished independently and in fluid work teams; you are accountable for goals that support the company’s direction. We are dedicated to making the work experience meaningful and productive. For more than two years, we have had a 36-hour work week for all staff, structured as four nine-hour days. And it has been a positive benefit for everyone.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour

All employees must be vaccinated. Our office is closed to the public, but we do outdoor appointments.
