HR Manager

Windsor Severance Fire Rescue

This is a Full-time position in Windsor, CO posted November 26, 2021.

Windsor Severance Fire Rescue is looking for a driven, high-performing Human Resources Manager to join their team and provide both strategic and tactical support for a workforce of approximately 85 employees.

The HR Manager will perform a variety of administrative and professional HR duties with primary responsibility for the personnel systems of the District, including:

· Classification and compensation

· Benefits administration

· Recruitment, hiring, and onboarding

· Labor and employee relations

· Performance management

· Training and development

· Policies and procedures

· Compliance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of:

· Principles and practices of public personnel administration, including methods and techniques of recruitment and selection, classification, compensation, salary and benefits administration, training, and equal opportunity and affirmative action.

· Budget preparation and administration.

· Applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to personnel administration.

· Knowledge of workplace safety best practices.

· High level of computer skills, including Microsoft Office software and specialized HR software (familiarity with ADP is preferred).

· Demonstrates ability to maintain a high degree of organization, coordination, and communication with attention to detail and accuracy.

Skilled In:

· Planning, directing, and administering Human Resource programs and systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field required, AND minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible HR experience as an HR Generalist or HR Specialist with exposure to all HR functions required OR

· Seven (7) or more years of progressively responsible human resources experience in the Human Resource field with at least three (3) years as a Human Resources Manager with exposure to all HR functions required.

· Extensive experience in employee relations, recruitment strategy, benefits, workers’ compensation administration, insurance liability, as well as policy and program development highly desired.

· Possess, or able to obtain, a valid Colorado State driver’s license.

· Meet insurability requirements of the District’s insurance carrier.

· Must successfully pass a formal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records review.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· HR Certification

· Experience in Human Resources in the public sector

The Organization & Community:

Windsor Severance Fire Rescue is considered a combination department that provides fire, medical, and rescue services to the towns of Windsor and Severance.

The District covers approximately 100 square miles in Weld and Larimer Counties, averaging just over 3,000 calls per year for three stations.

Compensation:

Windsor Severance Fire Rescue offers a competitive wage and benefits package to prospective employees.

The starting annual salary for the Human Resources Manager position is $95,320.13.

The salary range for the position is $95,320.13
– $121,655.32.
