As a consultative sales professional, this outside sales role is responsible for driving revenue growth and bringing in net new business from prospects.

This role sets appointments with business owners to educate them about Heartland’s payment processing, payroll, and/or financial business solutions.

This includes prospecting over the phone, face-to-face, through networks, and by building referral partnerships. 


What will you be doing?
Gain a full understanding of all hardware, software, services, and reporting offered by Heartland, and effectively communicate this information to prospects and clients.

Prospect and close new merchant accounts consistently month after month.   Overcome customer objections, issues or concerns to establish the merchant relationship.

Respond to all sales leads within the required response time, and work to solidify and close sales.

Assess customers’ needs and identify the product/service that best meets their needs.

Market additional Heartland software and financial technology products and services when appropriate.

Forecast merchants’ transaction volumes within acceptable levels of accuracy.

Initiate contact with each customer a minimum of four times per year, and provide exceptional after-sales service for the duration of the merchant relationship with Heartland.

Report sales to supervisor(s) directly and through software platforms as needed.

Continually learn all aspects of all of the products and services offered by Heartland.

Administrative duties as needed.

This role is expected to be at full production (as defined by Heartland) within their first four months.

What are the requirements?
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years business-to-business and/or outside sales experience with proven track record of success Territory management experience is a plus
