As with many successful SaaS services, the ability to measure and understand customer usage using data is a critical part of the product team’s responsibilities. We are searching for a data-driven Product Operations Manager to work within our Product Management team. The Product Operations Manager is at the center of our product decision making by driving our metrics platforms, analyzing product usage, and ensuring that we continuously measure our effectiveness as a team.Product Managers are the CEOs of their products and are responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning and driving the execution of the vision for their product lines. In the SaaS world, product managers need to be able to measure and understand customer behavior to optimize decisions and value consistently. The Product Operations Manager is at the center of this and is an integral part of the Carbon Black Cloud product team helping to make data-driven decisions.This is a critical role that ties to the reliability and usability of Carbon Black Cloud. It is responsible for building out the tools required to measure our product value – whether it be User Feedback forums like Product Board or Usage Metrics like Mode Analytics. This role is responsible for:* Manage and maintain (and build standards) for the tools required to be a data-driven product team* Analyze critical data around product usage, retention rates, activation, etc. They need to be deep enough to do this analysis themselves and help PMs make more informed decisions* Ensure that we are tracking our critical initiatives through the execution lifecycle. Track which initiatives that we have In Progress as well as the next ones up for execution* Reinforce the product delivery process across the PM and Engineering teams. Ensure that our PMs have a place to go when they are stuck* Curate PRDs, provide initial guidance on comprehensiveness, and setup important initiative reviews with product leadership* Track OKRs and ensure we accurately report on resultsQualifications:Required Skills* 1-3 years of work experience as a product manager or product operations manager delivering technology products to market* Proficient in SaaS product delivery* Comfort and experience working with data and demonstrated analytical capabilityPreferred Skills:* Experience or desire to develop and analyze metric data* Strategic planning or analysis capability* Excellent written, and verbal communication skills* Experience in Information Security/Cyber Security* Experience working or building out cloud products* Dynamic speaker, comfortable in front of audiences of all sizes and backgrounds* Ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions* Excellent organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of what’s most important* Passion about technology and have a strong commitment to advance the state of security through virtualizationThis job requisition is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsorship by VMware.VMware is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Prohibits Discrimination and Harassment of Any Kind: VMware is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
